I am not saying one shouldn't use lab safety precautions or that its not a hazardous process, I can recall a couple of phosphorus fires almost ending in a "kaboom." Heating and pressuring solvents and chemicals can be volatile, BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT its not nearly as complex as they make it seem.
An ideal business for a recent graduate student who had studied Pharmacokinetics. I had signed a contract with Chemika Lab in India. Chemika fermented pure ephedrine for large pharmaceutical corporations. The majority of the business sold Sudaphed products. I felt proud, gratification, I landed such a high paying position, Director of Research and Development, working to ferment a purer form of ephedrine.
That's only the beginning of it...
